Fore led the development of the Strategic Outline Business Case for the Peterborough Station project as well as the drafting of the LUF2 bid submission. The project, one part of the Peterborough Station Quarter programme, entails the creation of a new western entrance to the station with a car park – to create a double-sided station – with a new wider footbridge over the train tracks. It will also create better links to and from the station itself for pedestrians and cyclists.
In preparing the business case and bid submission Fore worked closely with key partners including the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), Network Rail, LNER and Peterborough City Council framework consultants to develop the scheme and bring together the required evidence and analysis.
The LUF2 submission was submitted by CPCA in July 2022, with the scheme discussed in Parliament in September 2022 by Peterborough MP Paul Bristow who highlighted to ministers and officials the importance of the city’s bid for £48 million.
